摘 　要

     生态旅游是欣赏自然、享受自然、认识自然与保护自然的旅游。在旅游业的许多类型中，生态旅游是最受人们重视的一个类型，也是一个热点和生长点。众所周知，我国有60亿亩草地，约占国土面积的40%，而其中83%的面积分布在我国西部。草原不仅只是能放牧，大面积各类型的草原，还具经营性，所以草原蕴含巨大的旅游资源。我国西部草地面积大，类型多样，种类组成复杂，生物多样性丰富，自然景观独特以及气候温和，社会人文资源丰富，因此发展生态旅游具有很大的潜力。世纪之交，国家实施西部大开发战略，为西部生态旅游带来了千载难逢的历史机遇。西部虽是经济上的穷区，却是旅游资源的富区。人们要竭力把旅游资源的优势转化为经济上的优势，加速拉动西部经济发展。同时，人们必须始终把保护环境放在首位。

Abstract

       Ecotourism is one type of tourism that appreciation, enjoyment, understanding, and protection of nature. The ecotourism receives most people’s attention, as well as hot and growing point in many types of tourism now. As everyone knows, there are 6 billion acres of grassland in China, accounting for about 40% of the land area, 83% of which distributes China’s western region. The grassland is not only for grazing; various types of grasslands area have also very high value of appreciation. So the grassland contains enormous tourism resources. The China’s western grassland area is a large, varied and complex composition, rich in biodiversity, unique natural scenery, mild climate, and abundant human resources, so there is a lot of potential in the development of ecotourism. In the new century, the state’s exploration strategy of the West China has brought a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the development of the western ecotourism in China. Although China’s western region is poor in economy, it is rich in tourism resources. People should try their best to turn the tourism resource advantages into economic ones and accelerate economic development in the western regions of China. Meanwhile, people must always give top priority to protecting the environment.
