从福娃“改名”谈文化词的翻译策略

摘　 要

     翻译不仅是语言的转换，也是不同文化特质间的变换过程。英语和汉语在很多方面都有所不同，中英交流中特色文化的翻译也变得越来越重要。本文以异化理论为切入点，分析福娃“改名”的现象，从历史的角度提出, 在文化负载词翻译中应采用异化才能使中国在处于弱势文化的环境里构建与强势文化平等对话的平台。

Abstract

      Translation is not only a process of language interpretation but also a process of the transformation of different cultural features. The English language and the Chinese language differ in many aspects, and culture factors in communication become more and more important now. Following advice from the theory of foreignization, this paper analyses the alteration of Fuwa’s foreign designation, provides a dialectical and historical study on foreignization in translation of culture-loaded words, and arrives at a conclusion that the strategy of foreignization should be highlighted, which will help to build a platform where China, with the identity of weak culture, can have equal rights of discourse with those countries that have developed strong cultures.
