从文本类型理论看《红楼梦》中对联的英译

摘    要
 对联有着悠久的发展历史，这种古老的文学艺术形式，历千年不衰，至今仍焕发着青春，受到人民喜爱。对联也大量出现在众多文学著作中，如《红楼梦》等名著中，在这部作品中，连回目都是对联。如何翻译好其中的对联，满足这部作品跨文化的需求，是值得翻译工作者探讨的.
 英国著名翻译理论家彼得·纽马克在围绕翻译界历来存在的直译和意译纷争的基础上,借鉴其他学科的基础理论,提出了文本类型理论,构成了其翻译理论的核心。
 本文通过纽马克这个核心理论来研究红楼梦中对联翻译，从文本类型的角度来探讨对联翻译中必须掌握的一些原则和技巧。作者认为，译者应该尽可能传达原文的美学价值以及深层次的文化含义。

ABSTRACT
 The Chinese couplet has a long history. Through more than a thousand years' history, the Chinese couplet does not lose it's charm, and instead gains strong popularity among the folks. The Chinese couplets are also available in many chinese literary works like A Dream of Red Mansion. Furthermore, the titles of the chapters in the novel are Chinese couplets. Couplets are so important in this great novel, thus the study of the couplet translation in this novel is of great importance for the translators.
 The well known Engligh translator Peter·Newmark brings forth text type theory on the basis of other translation theories, which is the core of his study.
 This paper intends to study the couplet translation in the novel A Dream of Red Mansion, giving readers a better idea to appreciate this great novel and the couplets in it. The author puts forth the principles and techniques which must be mastered in couplet translation. Translators should bear two points in mind: the reappearance of aesthetic beauties and conveying of cultural connotation of couplets.
