摘   要
    现在，科学技术的飞速发展把人类社会推向了一个崭新的时代——信息时代。这已是无可争议的事实；信息对社会经济发展的巨大推动作用，使其与物质能源一起并列为现代社会的三大支柱，这已在全社会达到共识。随着对信息作为一种资源来管理的需求日益加强，信息研究领域出现了一种新的管理思想和模式——信息管理。由于信息是普遍存在的，人类信息管理活动的范围也是十分广泛的，信息管理不仅是信息工作的一部分，而且已被认为是现代管理的重要组成部分。
图书馆管理系统是典型的信息管理系统(MIS),其开发主要包括后台数据库的建立和维护以及前端应用程序的开发两个方面。对于前者要求建立起数据一致性和完整性强.数据安全性好的库。而对于后者则要求应用程序功能完备,易使用等特点。本文针对目前中小图书管理实际，从系统的开发背景、需求分析、设计原则及开发过程等四个方面进行了全面的阐述，采用Powerbuild 和SQL Sserver2000等软件为开发工具，具体阐述了图书管理软件中的查询子系统所应具有的功能及其设计与实现。

Abstract
Now, the rapid development of science and technology to human society to a new era - the information age. This is the indisputable fact; information on the socio-economic development of the great role in promoting, together with the material and energy as the three pillars of modern society, which has to reach a consensus in society as a whole. With the information as a resource to manage the increasing demand, the information field of research there is a new management ideas and models - information management. Because information is a common, human activities in the scope of information management is a very wide range of, information management is not only a part of the information,and has been considered to be an important component of modern management part.Library management system is a typical management information system (MIS), including the development of the main background of the establishment and maintenance of database and application development front-end aspects. The former requirement for data consistency and integrity to build strong. Good library of data security. For applications which require full-featured and easy to use and so on.In this paper, the current management of the actual small and medium-sized book, the background from the system development, needs analysis, design principles and development process in four areas, such as a comprehensive exposition, the Powerbuild and SQL Sserver2000 such as software and development tools, specific library management software on the query subsystem should have the function of the Design and Implementation.
