A processing capacity-based configuring system is developed through Web technology, database technology and Java programming language. First of all, a conceptual architecture for CNC-PSS configuration system is proposed. Then, a processing capacity model was established and the factors influencing the model was analyzed. In order to realize the reasonable configuration for produt and managers,a genetic algorithm was used to optimize processing capacity modle of CNC product. Finally, a simple case study and prototype were developed to verify the feasibility of proposed method. Through analyzing the machining tasks from users, manufacturers of CNC tool machine did their best to configure the related resources to achieve great benefits.
