摘要

近几年来，虚拟现实技术的应用与研究得到迅速的发展，它是一门涉及众多学科的新兴技术，涉及计算机图形学、人工智能、多媒体技术以及人机接口技术等诸多领域，在许多领域具有广泛的应用前景，虚拟现实技术日渐成为计算机应用技术发展的主要研究方向之一。
到目前，虚拟现实技术在国外有了很大的发展，在国内更有了一种质的飞跃。该技术不仅仅应用在航空航天、医疗方面，在影视、虚拟影院上也有很大的运用。在08年的五、六月份，杭州某公司生产的虚拟电视即将上市销售，这也标志着虚拟现实技术一个里程碑的发展。在本文中，主要介绍的是虚拟现实技术在小区三维漫游中的应用。
本文档主要讨论了以下内容:
（1）概述了虚拟现实技术的应用领域，国内外研究动态以及课题的研究背景及意义。
（2）介绍了虚拟环境漫游的理论基础和相关背景知识。
